It is clear from this result that people with Chronic Pulmonary Aspergillosis (CPA) have a wide range of issues of concern, and we can assume that most people who have voted or suggested an option have experienced the issue that they are highlighting.
Cough, weight loss, fatigue, breathlessness, and coughing up blood are all symptoms that are commonly associated with CPA (Chronic Pulmonary Aspergillosis (CPA) – Aspergillosis Patients & Carers Support
Fatigue and breathlessness with poor fitness are the most common problems mentioned in our poll by a long way, so these are three issues we will concentrate on the most as NAC CARES team offers support over the next year. Of these, fatigue in particular is difficult to treat with few medication options but there are lots of suggestions for lifestyle changes at Aspergillosis and Fatigue – Aspergillosis Patients & Carers Support.
These results also show a range of other problems experienced by people with CPA, not previously associated such as emotional health, side effects, weight gain as well as weight loss, hair loss, nausea, and practical problems such as an inability to have a holiday or even get out of the house! This gives us a far more complete picture of what it is like to have CPA from the patient’s point of view, and as such is a valuable addition to our knowledge.
