Animals can develop aspergillosis too. Aspergillus species are widespread in the environment and can cause a range of diseases in animals, including infections affecting the respiratory system, nasal passages and other parts of the body.
Aspergillosis in animals does not usually mean that an infected pet poses a risk to its owner. Aspergillosis is generally acquired from environmental exposure to Aspergillus spores rather than being passed directly between animals and people.
This hub brings together information about aspergillosis and other Aspergillus-related disease in pets and other animals, including how disease can present in different species, diagnosis and veterinary treatment, and questions people with aspergillosis may have about living with animals.
