Many people find it helpful to connect with others who understand the practical and emotional impact of aspergillosis. Our online communities offer different ways to ask questions, share experiences and stay in touch.
National Aspergillosis Centre Facebook support group
Our Facebook support group is a large, friendly community for people living with aspergillosis, carers, family members and supporters.
It is a place to:
- share experiences and practical tips;
- ask questions of others living with similar conditions;
- hear about new information, meetings and research opportunities; and
- feel less alone.

NAC Aspergillosis Telegram group
Telegram is an optional discussion group for people who would like to stay connected between meetings, particularly after the First Friday monthly support meeting. It can be useful for sharing links, continuing a conversation and hearing about future meetings.

Using online communities safely
Other members can share valuable lived experience, but their treatment and circumstances may be different from yours. Use online discussion to learn, feel supported and prepare questions — not to make changes to prescribed treatment.
- Do not stop or alter medicines because of advice from another member.
- Check treatment questions with your own clinician, specialist nurse or pharmacist.
- Avoid sharing personal contact details, medical documents or identifying information publicly.
- Seek urgent medical advice rather than waiting for an online reply if you have severe or worsening symptoms.
